Kite Hill Artisan Almond Milk Yogurt | Product Review

Today, I am very excited to write my very first product review for this blog. The kids and I went to Little Rock on a big food adventure. You can see that video here. I decided while we were at Whole Foods that we would pick up some great plant-based, vegan products that are highly recommended throughout the community to try out.

I picked up this Kite Hill Artisan Almond Milk Yogurt. My family and I love yogurt type products but all of us have some form of issues with conventional, animal based yogurts. Madison is allergic to two proteins in milk, Mark is lactose intolerant, and I have an alpha-galactose allergy and don’t tolerate dairy in large doses. So besides wanting to lead a plant-based (mostly vegan) diet which excludes animal products, we couldn’t eat it anyways. Regardless, we’re extremely grateful that there are some amazing non-dairy products saturating the market.

This morning, we decided to have a side of Kite Hill yogurt with our breakfast. I was amazed when I opened the package. I don’t know why, but it’s like I half expect vegan or plant-based products to not be anything like their conventional cousins. You can see from the picture above how creamy, but thick this yogurt is. I have always believed a thicker yogurt had a much better texture for eating alone.

When I took a bite, the yogurt was smooth and creamy. The flavor was bright but not as tangy as other yogurts we’ve tried. Most other yogurts have a very tangy, almost chemically vanilla taste. This Kite Hill yogurt had a mellow, soothing vanilla flavor, with only a hint of the typical tart yogurt flavor at the end. It was probably the most pleasant, yogurt I’ve ever tasted including the conventional dairy based ones!

My kids also loved it! I actually caught one of them scraping their plate and the other trying to literally lick their plate clean. It’s safe to say, I’d recommend this if you want a great yogurt treat in the morning. You could throw some granola on top, add it to a smoothie, or eat it all by itself. I can’t think of a wrong way to use this product. It was a little pricy, and I haven’t found it local yet. But, I know that I will be picking this up when I go back to Little Rock. Whether you’ve found yourself missing conventional dairy when adopting a more plant-based diet, or you just want to try out a really great tasting yogurt; I highly recommend that you give this product a try.
